Today is the 10th day that temps in the Tampa Bay area have been under 40 degrees. I made a snowball from ice yesterday and took a picture.

A Great Big THANKS to Urban Meyer

A little off topic today but the situation warrants it…

As a die hard Gator fan I couldn’t help but be a little pissed at the news of Urban Meyer resigning today. Merry F’n HO HO to close the Christmas Holiday. But after hearing the details a bit later on I have become OK with it and now have begun thinking of the future. Don’t get me wrong I wish Urban well and hope he gets through these health issues for his and his familie’s sake.

The thoughts to the future are not so bright… Dan Mullen gone last year, Billy Gonzalez and Charlie Strong now moved on this year and the internal coaching choices are bleak at best. Other top names have already been chosen which leaves incredible “WHO NOW” thoughts on Gator Nation. Couple this to a large senior graduation with now more underclassmen, and top recruits fleeing the Florida football program has just been reset to the Zook years or below. It is like Gator fans were living a dream the last 5 years and damnit we woke up today. The Sugar Bowl next week should be a very emotional game being Tim Tebow and Meyer’s last college game togther.

I hope that the underclassmen and recruits give this new challenge some time and don’t make rash decisions about leaving just yet. Maybe, just maybe there is someone out there that can come in and pick up where Urban left off.

Vaping at Indoor Sporting Events

Went to the St. Pete Bowl last night with my son and a friend of mine that is a UCF graduate.  We had great seats about 20 rows up on the 20 yard line and were surronded bu UCF fans.  About midway through the first quarter I took a few vapes from my GreenSmoke and held them in long enough that there was no real vapor exhale.  Nobody noticed a thing.  Later in the second quarter I took a couple more and let out some vapor.  A women sitting two seats to my left noticed and said “Hey you can’t smoke in here”.  I quickly showed her it was electronic and that is was only putting out water vapor and she looked at me as if I was crazy.  Anyway I waited till halftime and went outside to smoke again just so I didn’t make anymore people look my way.
Bottom line is it is Ok to do it but sometimes the crowd can make it a little challenging to do without questions and a lot of stares.  The game didn’t come out as we would have liked but we had fun.  Thanks to Big Mike for the invite!

Last Night’s Progress

I went out to a buddy’s house last night for a few drinks and brought along my e-cig of course.  My buddy probably smokes a pack or more of cigarettes a day and routinely says that he loves to smoke.  I showed him the Green Smoke e-cig the other night and he wasn’t that impressed.  Although last night his tune was much different… seems he went to some of the sites that I reference on The Daily Vapor and got excited.  His exact words were “I really belive these things are the future”.  I have been saying that now for several weeks since becoming a vapor smoker and now he has “seen” the light.  If I can convince him that this is the way to go then any smoker out there will eventually see the same light.

For the cost of a carton or two of cigarettes you too can become a vapor smoker.  Give it a try and see for yourself you will really like the new you.

The Next Big Thing

Is it just me or should the tobacco companies be shaking in their proverbial boots over these electronic cigarettes. I now use them and couldn’t be happier but this is not about a plug. On the surface these new electronic widgets are a novelty at best. But take a bigger picture look at where this could go with the right team leading the way and you couldn’t imagine the end of the road for profits and business growth.

Pros:
Available from many manufacturers from China to recently in the US
Cheaper in the long-run than traditional cigarettes
Removes close to 4000 chemicals and byproducts currently in cigarettes
Allows a “nicotine fix” just about anywhere
Some have affiliate programs that allow you to make money while enjoying the new you
Great conversation starter for those of you that are a little shy in public
Shows you care about the environment by removing greenhouse gases produced by cigarettes
No more nasty smells after a cig break
No littering butts all over the place

Cons:
Initial investment can be $100-$200
Not available in your local store like your current brand of coffin nails
Based on order size some can have additional shipping charges and wait
The FDA is trying to get involved saying they are bad for you
The need to keep a charger handy for those times when your battery dies

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to reasons why you should make the switch or not. Of course there are people that enjoy smelling nasty and will not make the transition unless their favorite cigarette goes away. But as a former smoker I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t give it a try. Vapor… a Real Positive Change for Smokers

It has now been a little over two weeks since I gravitated to being a vapor smoker, water vapor that is.  Electronic cigarettes still have everything I need to stay off the real cancer sticks and I couldn’t be happier.  It takes a little getting used to but after the initial awkwardness it gets much easier.  It seems to me that anyone could benefit from e-cigs as I have if for nothing more than saving some money.

Welcome to The Daily Vapor!

I have spent years looking for an alternative to smoking that works. I have quit several times over the last 20 years or so and once for 10 years but I always felt that I liked to smoke. I know it sounds bad with all that smoking can do to your body but that’s the way I felt. About 3 weeks ago I finally decided on trying an electronic cigarette from Green Smoke because of an offer I saw on-line. I am so glad I did because it has changed my life for good. Now I can “quit” smoking but keep all the aspects that I like so much.
